Chapter 3 Finding an Inn
Chapter 3 Finding an Inn
I strolled along the bar street and unexpectedly discovered a dimly lit street filled with the enticing aromas of various foods: grilled skewers, stinky tofu, fried potatoes, candied hawthorns, and more. Wow! It was so lively!
They're here, I have to treat myself. A moment later, I had a skewer of grilled meat in my right hand, a boneless chicken foot in my left, and an egg tart in my mouth.
Wow, humans really know how to enjoy life! This kebab is so delicious, every bite is bursting with juice. Watching people at the roadside stalls enjoying a bite of barbecue and a sip of ice-cold beer feels so good.
I had to try it! A beer aroma I'd never forgotten hit my nose—it was amazing! I leaned back in my chair and closed my eyes to rest.
A moment later, a little boy stood silently in front of me and smiled, "Sister, you seem a bit drunk. Do you need to stay at a hotel? I can give you a 20% discount!"
I opened my cold, stern eyes and saw a little child. A smile played on my lips as I said, "I'm not drunk, I'm just resting here."
"Drunk people always say they're not drunk, there's no need to be embarrassed." The little boy seemed to understand his customers well and knew how to ease the tension.
"What's your name? Where are your parents? Do you own the shop? Or do you refer customers to the shop? How much do you charge?" Just teasing the kid when I have nothing else to do.
Could this girl be a human trafficker? Trying to get information out of me? But she's so pretty, she probably isn't! Just in case.
He thought to himself warily, "My name is Yu Ping'an, and my dad is watching me nearby! Don't worry, I know this area best. The place I'm recommending to you has the best service and environment, and they won't rip you off."
"Have I forgotten something?!" *Whoosh!* I quickly stood up; I'd been so engrossed in playing that I'd forgotten about the mission! As I stood up, Yu Ping'an hurriedly ran away. Did this kid think I was a kidnapper?!
The mysterious person hadn't told me the name of the inn, and I didn't know where it was. I stood there in circles, my brow furrowed, not knowing what to do.
Yu Pingan stared at me like I was crazy, thinking, "Is this person planning to kidnap me? Waaah, Mommy, come save your baby!"
Huan Yuechu glanced at the child's wary expression and suddenly realized, thinking, "Isn't he the most familiar with this area?" I slowly walked towards Yu Ping'an, and with each step I took, he took a step back. Helplessly, I said, "Little Ping'an, do you know if there's an inn nearby?"
"What are you going to do? You're not a... bad guy, are you?" Xiao Ping'an asked tentatively, clutching the small bag in her chest tightly.
This human cub is so cute. If I didn't have something important to do, I would definitely want to pat his hair. "Kid, do you think bad people can write 'I'm a bad person' on their faces? My name is Huan Yuechu, a college student who is about to graduate. Can you tell me if there is an inn nearby? If you tell me, I will give you a tip."
They say money can make the devil turn the millstone, maybe this kid can help me!
“If you can give me money, I’ll tell you and even take you to this place,” Yu Ping’an said lightly, letting his guard down.
It seems there really is an inn nearby. It came so easily. "Deal, lead the way."
Even at night, the streets are brightly lit.
On the way to the shop, I was curious – weren't parents worried about their child being so young earning money? So I asked, "Xiao Ping'an, are your parents okay with you earning money at such a young age? Aren't they afraid of being kidnapped by bad people?"
You said your dad is nearby, but I haven't seen him at all. Can you tell me why?
Ping An's happy face instantly disappeared. She lowered her head, clutching her small bag, and said, "Because my parents aren't home, they've already worked so hard for me! I want to do what I can to lighten their burden."
This is such an obedient and sensible child, but it is dangerous for a child to be outside alone.
“Xiao Ping’an, I know you want to help your parents, but if they come home and find you’re not there, they’ll be worried and anxious.”
"I understand, sister, it won't happen again!"
I stroked Ping An's soft hair and little face, thinking to myself, "This little one's face is so soft and smooth!" Such a tender little face, full of collagen. "You can call me Sister Yuechu from now on! Are you tired? Let me carry you!"
"Thank you, Sister Yuechu."
I bent down and squatted down to pick up Xiao Ping'an, even though it was a bit far from here.
It took almost half an hour to walk this fast, and it was only under my magical control that I was able to walk so fast. How could this child know about such a far place?
"Sister Yuechu, just keep walking straight ahead, turn right and walk a little further. You'll see a persimmon tree by the entrance; that's the inn you're looking for!"
When I heard that we were almost there, I felt like I was on steroids, and I couldn't hide the smile on my face.
Isn't it true that having money and a house makes you a winner in life? I already have them. Once I gather all the energy from the Seven Emotions Bracelet, becoming an immortal will be just around the corner, and then I'll dominate... hahahaha.
Ping An looked up at Yuechu, who was laughing heartily with her eyebrows raised, wondering what she was so happy about. No one knew what Yuechu was doing there; it was more like a thatched hut than an inn, which puzzled the adults.
In the blink of an eye, we arrived at the inn!
Wow! This inn is magnificent, spacious, bright, high-end, and classy. Is this my inn?
Ping An saw me standing still and slid off my arms. She tugged at my pants and pointed across from the hotel, saying, "Look, this is the inn you're looking for."
I know, I've already seen it. Ping An saw that I was still staring at the Huashi Hotel, guessed that I was mistaken, and pulled me to the other side of the hotel.
Ah! You said this is the inn I'm looking for? I'm back to square one, all my joy was for nothing. I knew the mysterious person wouldn't be so generous.
The first thing you notice is a persimmon tree by the entrance, laden with fruit.
Then came a dilapidated but sturdy gate. Pushing it open, my hands were covered in dust. The courtyard was filled with wildly growing bamboo and scattered leaves. I wondered if any fish were still alive in the fishpond. It was a three-story inn with eleven rooms in total, including the innkeeper's room. It looked old from the outside, but the furniture inside was antique and elegant. However... the spider webs were just too strong!
Hygiene is not a concern; a wave of the hand will suffice. However, if there are children around, let's postpone it to another day!
I don't know what caused it to stop. With a loud "thud," the signboard fell to the ground and broke in two. A thick layer of dust rose from the ground and drifted everywhere in the air. I quickly picked up Ping An and ran outside.
"Uh! This... this doesn't need to be so grand for a welcome!" I was speechless. Looks like I'll have to change the signboard! Waaah, my money's doomed!
The kind-hearted little boy comforted her, "Sister Yuechu, don't worry. I know someone who makes signboards, and their skills will definitely satisfy you."
Am I worried? Yes, I am heartbroken about the money I'm spending, but this is something I can only understand but not express.
"I'll have to go back and calm down a bit." "Then I'll have to trouble Xiao Ping'an again! I'll take you home first, and we'll do it when we have time!"
"You're welcome, Sister Yuechu. The master craftsman who makes plaques lives near my house!" This warm-hearted Xiao Ping'an broke my heart.
After thinking for three seconds, he said, "Then take me there!"
