Chapter Ninety-Nine: A Wonderful Dream Journey
Liu Yu and his group continued their journey. As dusk fell, they found an inn to stay at.
As soon as Liu Yu entered the room, he fell asleep. In his dream, he found himself in a strange place.
Surrounded by colorful clouds, Liu Yu felt a soft, fluffy sensation as he stepped on them. He looked around curiously and saw a magnificent, golden palace in the distance.
Liu Yu thought to herself, "Where am I? Am I in heaven?"
He walked toward the palace, where two guards dressed in strange clothes stood at the entrance.
Liu Yu stepped forward and asked, "Brother, where is this place?"
The guard glared at him: "This is the Jade Emperor's palace; no unauthorized entry is permitted!"
Liu Yu was startled: "Oh dear, I'm sorry, I didn't know."
But he was very curious, so he sneaked in when the guards weren't looking.
The palace was bustling with activity; fairies were dancing gracefully, and celestial children were running around. Liu Yu was dazzled by the sights and accidentally bumped into a chubby deity.
The deity said angrily, "You brat, how could you be so reckless!"
Liu Yu quickly apologized: "Grandpa Immortal, I'm sorry, I'm lost."
The immortal snorted, "Lost? I think you're deliberately causing trouble!"
Just then, a jade rabbit ran over and bit Liu Yu's clothes.
Liu Yu followed the Jade Rabbit to a garden, where hundreds of flowers were in full bloom, a truly beautiful sight.
Liu Yu couldn't resist picking a flower, only to be discovered by the flower fairy.
The flower fairy said coquettishly, "You wicked man, how dare you pick my flower!"
Liu Yu said, "Fairy sister, I was wrong. These flowers are so beautiful, I couldn't resist."
The flower fairy said, "I'll let you off this time because you have a sweet tongue."
Liu Yu continued walking forward and saw a pond where the fish could actually talk.
The fish said, "Quickly rescue me, I'm tired of staying here."
Liu Yu said, "How can I save you?"
The fish said, "Just scoop out the water."
Liu Yu picked up a basin and started scooping water, working up a sweat.
Finally, the water was scooped out, and the fish turned into a fairy.
The fairy smiled and said, "Thank you, I can grant you one wish."
Liu Yu thought for a moment and said, "I want lots and lots of money."
With a wave of her sleeve, the fairy created a mountain of gold in front of Liu Yu.
Liu Yu ran over excitedly, but couldn't move the gold no matter what she tried.
He said anxiously, "What should we do?"
The fairy said, "Greedy fellow, figure it out yourself."
He disappeared after saying that.
Liu Yu was worrying when she suddenly heard a bell ringing.
He opened his eyes and found himself still in his bed at the inn.
It turns out it was all just a dream.
Liu Yu told Xu Xian and the others about her dream, and everyone laughed so hard they almost fell over.
Xu Xian said, "Your dream is truly bizarre."
Xiaoqing said, "Brother-in-law, all you do is dream about getting rich."
Liu Yu scratched his head: "Hehe, who doesn't want to get rich?"
They packed their things and continued on their way.
Around noon, they arrived at a small town.
A temple fair is being held in the town, and it's bustling with people.
Liu Yu saw a vendor selling candied hawthorns and wanted to buy a skewer to try.
He said to the stall owner, "Boss, give me a skewer of candied hawthorns."
The stall owner handed him a skewer, and Liu Yu took a bite, only to find it so sour that he grimaced.
He said, "This is way too sour, can I get a different one?"
The stall owner said, "No, once you buy it, you can't exchange it."
Liu Yu had no choice but to bite the bullet and eat it.
They continued to stroll through the temple fair and saw a juggler performing fire-breathing.
The celebrity accidentally sprayed fire onto his hair, and his hair caught fire.
Everyone rushed to help put out the fire, and the scene was chaotic.
