Chapter Thirty-Nine: Moving Out Tonight
"Shen Yuan, what are you doing!" My mother blocked the doorway, preventing them from coming in.
I grabbed my phone and immediately called the police.
"What are you all standing there for? Grab her phone!" Old Shen ordered.
Two bodyguards forced their way in.
My mother shielded me behind her, grabbed a vase from the side, and shouted at them, "If you dare touch my daughter, I'll fight you to the death!"
By this time, I had already called the police.
Old Shen's eyes darkened: "Ignore her, take Shen Yan away from me!"
One of the bodyguards pushed my mother aside and came straight at me.
"Yan Yan, run!" My mom bumped into the back of the sofa. She held her waist and looked pained.
"Mom!" I was very worried and ran over immediately.
The bodyguard grabbed my arm very hard, as if he wanted to break it.
I cried out in excruciating pain, "Old Shen, I'm an adult now. What you're doing is kidnapping!"
"I am your biological father, what do you mean by kidnapping!" Old Shen showed no remorse whatsoever.
All I can do now is stall for time.
"Do you think I'll listen to you just because you've kidnapped me?" I gritted my teeth. "I'll make your Shen family a living hell!"
"Then we'll see if you have the ability!" Old Shen's eyes darkened. "Take her away quickly!"
My mom ignored her back pain and held me tightly, not daring to let go.
She was afraid that if she let go, I would leave her completely.
Old Shen came over and tried to pry my mom's fingers off, very forcefully.
My mom was in so much pain that she was sweating profusely, but she still gritted her teeth and persevered.
Just when war was raging.
Xia Zhe rushed in: "President Han!"
He was also greatly surprised to see this.
"Xia Zhe, take Shen Yan away quickly, don't let Shen Yuan touch her!" my mother shouted.
"Go and stop him!" Old Shen ordered another bodyguard.
Xia Zhe and his bodyguard started fighting.
I didn't expect him to be so capable.
The bodyguard couldn't beat him.
"Useless trash!" Old Shen roared.
"If you're so good, then you do it!" I said sarcastically.
Old Shen glared at me: "Look at you now, you don't look like a rich girl at all!"
"Liu Shengyan has one, go train her!" I said through gritted teeth.
Xia Zhe was tied up by the bodyguard and had no way to get over.
Fortunately, he managed to buy some time.
The police are here.
"Stop!" the policeman said sternly.
Everyone stopped.
"Police officers!" I looked at them with a wronged expression. "This man is my biological father. He divorced my mother and doesn't want me or her anymore. I got good results in the college entrance exam this time, and he came to steal the credit and even tried to imprison me."
"Officer, don't listen to her nonsense. She's just a child and doesn't know any better. She's only being manipulated by her mother," Old Shen stood up and explained.
"No, officer, I have a recording. He cheated on me, that's why my mom divorced him. He didn't give us a penny in child support and he's cut off all ties with me." I burst into tears.
Seeing me like this, the police officer immediately comforted me: "Don't cry, we're here, he won't dare to do anything to you."
I sobbed uncontrollably, then nodded.
My mom hugged me and gently comforted me.
"What's going on with you?" the policeman asked Old Shen. "What are you doing here with two people?"
"Officer, it's a misunderstanding. I just came to see my daughter," Old Shen explained.
"Officer," my mother said slowly, "What my daughter just said is true. He did indeed sever his father-daughter relationship with her a long time ago. There are security cameras at my door. You can check them. They forcibly broke in. I think I can sue them for trespassing, right?"
The policeman nodded.
"No, officer, listen to me. This child got excellent results in the college entrance examination. Teachers from Tsinghua and Peking Universities came to the school in person, but she didn't want to go. Do you think she would give up Tsinghua and Peking Universities if someone hadn't been pushing her?" Old Shen said angrily.
"It's my own exam score, and it's not up to you to decide which school I want to go to!" I said angrily. "So what if it's Tsinghua or Peking University? If you're young and can't get in, it's because you're stupid. I can get in but I don't go because I have my own ideals. You're not my father anymore, you can't control me!"
"Officer, listen to what a daughter would say!" Old Shen rebuked.
My mother's expression was icy: "Officer, I think we should wait for the lawyer to arrive before discussing anything else. My daughter and I don't want to talk to him directly anymore. Please kick him out. This is my home, and he is an intruder."
The policeman looked at Lao Shen and said, "You can talk things out. You're only making a scene because of this. They're kicking you out. If you don't leave, we'll arrest you."
Old Shen was furious, but he didn't dare do anything in front of the police. He glared at me and my mother and said angrily, "You just wait!"
After saying that, he left with his bodyguards.
My mom and I finally breathed a sigh of relief.
“Officers, thank you for your hard work.” My mother stood up: “We want to keep a record so that if he comes to bother us again someday, we will have evidence to file a lawsuit for forced eviction.”
"Okay." The policeman readily agreed.
The police left only after the formalities were completed.
"Xia Zhe, contact them right away. Shen Yan and I are moving out tonight." My mom is very efficient.
“Okay.” Xia Zhe immediately made a phone call.
"Mom, how are you? Should we go to the hospital?" I helped her sit on the sofa.
"I'm fine, Yan Yan, go pack your things first, we'll leave now." My mother frowned: "Shen Yuan has gone mad."
"Okay." I nodded.
I'm going to pack my things.
Soon, several more people arrived at the house.
They were bodyguards hired by my mother.
That night, we moved into a villa.
"This is a temporary rental," my mom explained. "Once things settle down, I'll see where we can move to."
"Mom, why does Lao Shen insist that I get into Tsinghua or Peking University?" I asked, puzzled. "The only good thing for him if I go to Tsinghua or Peking University is to brag about it, right?"
My mom gently rubbed my head: "Of course it's not that simple. As top universities, Tsinghua and Peking University mean that you'll have access to powerful connections if you get in. This will be very beneficial for your future development. Shen Yuan probably wants to develop in Xinjing City and wants to use you as a stepping stone."
I suddenly realized: "I really hadn't thought of that."
My mother looked at me with a mysterious expression and said, "Of course, there are other reasons as well, Yan Yan. I don't want you to be a pawn. There are some things you're better off not knowing."
I know my mom means well, and if I pry into things, she'll worry even more if she doesn't tell me.
Since she thinks it's safest for me not to ask, I naturally won't press her for an answer.
But that doesn't mean I don't care.
"Mom, don't worry, even if I go to school in Xinjing City, I won't go looking for Huo Yushen, and I won't care about Lao Shen's thoughts," I comforted her.
