Chapter 603 - 564: Freely Traveling Through Different Spaces
Hearing the young man’s irrelevant answer, Yu Lan tapped him on the head. "Young man, have you lost your mind?" she asked. "I’m asking where you end up if you go through the Phoenix Dance Hall and out the back door. Why are you telling me about some private room?"
Hearing Yu Lan’s words, the young man replied helplessly, "I’m telling the truth. There are a lot of private rooms behind the Phoenix Dance Hall. If you don’t believe me, you can go see for yourself..."
Yu Lan shook her head and grabbed another man, a worker in a leather jacket. "Excuse me, let me ask you something," she said. "If you enter this Phoenix Dance Hall and go out the back, do you end up in another world?"
The worker was startled. He shook his head and replied, "Ma’am, have you never been dancing in the Phoenix Dance Hall? Don’t you know the back door just leads to an underground parking lot?"
Hearing that the back exit of the Phoenix Dance Hall led to a parking lot, Yu Lan said in surprise, "No way. How come when we went out the back door, we ended up in a desert canyon?"
The worker in the leather jacket shook his head, completely baffled. "Ma’am, have you been watching too many sci-fi movies? This dance hall is right in the city center, you know? Besides, our city is surrounded by mountains, rivers, and forests. How could there possibly be a grand canyon, let alone a desert one? That’s just completely illogical—environmentally, geographically, and biologically."
Now that she understood the back door led to a parking lot and not some supposed desert canyon, Yu Lan immediately turned to Zhao Rong. "Zhao Rong, what do you think? Should we go back into the Phoenix Dance Hall and check the back door? We need to see if it leads to the parking lot or the desert canyon."
Zhao Rong thought for a moment before replying, "I think we need to visit the Phoenix Dance Hall again. We might make some new discoveries."
With that, Zhao Rong led his team back into the Phoenix Dance Hall.
However, as Zhao Rong’s group of five tried to enter, they were stopped by a security guard at the door. The guard held a rubber baton in his left hand and a shield in his right. He pointed to the ticket booth at the entrance and said, "Sorry, you need to buy a ticket to enter the Phoenix Dance Hall."
Hearing this, Zhao Rong nodded awkwardly and turned toward the ticket booth. When he reached it, he pulled out a 100-yuan bill. "Excuse me, ma’am," he asked the old woman inside, "how much for a ticket?"
The old woman told him, "Ten yuan each. Men pay, women are free."
Delighted to hear that women were free, Zhao Rong happily took twenty yuan in change from his wallet and handed it to the old woman. "There are five of us, but three are women. So I just need to buy two tickets, right?"
The old woman nodded impatiently. "Cut the chatter. Just pay the twenty yuan and get in."
After Zhao Rong paid the twenty yuan for two tickets, the group of five promptly entered the Phoenix Dance Hall.
But when Zhao Rong stepped inside, he was stunned by what he saw. Just moments ago, he and the villain Zhou Xiaoer had fought fiercely in here, completely trashing the place. Now, however, everything had been miraculously restored to its original condition. There were no signs of a battle anywhere.
Zhao Rong muttered to himself, "Could it be that the place where we fought Zhou Xiaoer isn’t in this space, but a different one?"
His assistant agreed. "Boss, you’re right. I think the space where we fought and this space are definitely not in the same dimension. Otherwise, look—when we came in before, those were high-back chairs. Now they’re all wooden stools."
Listening to the assistant, Lili added thoughtfully, "I think the villains Hong Ju and Zhou Xiaoer must exist in a unique space, one outside our human world. That must be why we just traveled through space-time."
Yu Lan thought for a moment before saying, "Lili, are you saying that if we want to find our final target, Hong Ju, we have to find a way into her space? Otherwise, no matter how much we search in this one, our efforts will be useless, and we’ll never find her, right?"
Lili nodded. "Yu Lan, you’re right. So now we have to find a way to travel freely between these different dimensions. Only then can we catch the villains. Otherwise, it will all be a futile effort."
Listening to Lili, the difficulty of the task began to weigh on Yu Lan. "Lili, you’re right," she said, her brow furrowing, "but how are we supposed to travel freely between different dimensions? That seems incredibly difficult..."
Seeing Yu Lan’s worried expression, Xue Lianmei adopted a relaxed expression and said comfortingly, "Yu Lan, don’t worry. I know a way we can quickly travel between different spaces."
Upon hearing this, Yu Lan asked eagerly, "Xue Lianmei, what is it? Tell me quickly! I’m so desperate to travel between spaces. I just want to catch that villain Hong Ju and go home." The mission had dragged on for so long that Yu Lan was physically and mentally exhausted.
Xue Lianmei pointed at Zhao Rong. "Yu Lan, you can have Zhao Rong take out his phone, open the Paradise Shopping Cart app, and buy a Space-Time Shuttle. That way, we can easily travel between different spaces."
Before Xue Lianmei could even finish, Zhao Rong had his phone out and was opening the Paradise Shopping Cart app. He told the three women and his assistant, "Let’s head for the back door. I’ll buy the Space-Time Shuttle from the Paradise Shopping Cart while we walk."
With that, Zhao Rong led Lili, Yu Lan, Xue Lianmei, and his assistant toward the back door of the Phoenix Dance Hall.
