Chapter 1237: You Shouldn’t Get Overexcited Right Now
"Leader’s wife! It’s a boy!"
The nurse held the newborn baby up for Lily Turner, who was now so exhausted she couldn’t muster any strength at all to reach out and touch the child, her arms simply wouldn’t lift.
Seeing this, the nurse holding the baby quickly leaned in close to her, letting the baby’s face touch hers.
At the moment her cheek touched her son’s, Lily’s eyes suddenly felt warm, and scorching tears instantly slipped from the corners of her eyes.
"Leader’s wife, you shouldn’t get too emotional right now, it could affect your recovery." The nurse placed the baby beside Lily, using the baby to distract her. "Look how beautiful the child is, the genes from you and the leader are amazing."
Although all newborns looked similar, the nurse could confidently determine just by seeing the baby’s parents that this child would definitely have good looks in the future.
The nurse’s words successfully diverted Lily’s attention. She tilted her head to look at her son beside her, but the baby was fresh from birth and hadn’t been washed, so she couldn’t really see what the baby looked like.
Her son was good-looking? She couldn’t even see him, where was this good-looking talk coming from? This nurse sure knew how to talk.
"Thank you!"
No matter the reason for the compliment, Lily felt she ought to thank the nurse for praising her son.
Seeing that she was no longer tearfully emotional, the nurse picked the baby up from Lily’s side and left the delivery room, taking the baby to be cleaned in the washing room.
Watching the nurse carry the baby out of the delivery room, Amelia Linton immediately followed, trailing after the nurse holding their baby to the baby’s washing room.
After the doctor finished cleaning Lily’s uterus, the nurse wheeled her back to the ward. She was now so exhausted her eyes couldn’t stay open, and within a minute of entering the ward, she was asleep.
Easton Holmes wanted so much to plant a kiss on her, who had just become a mom, but he worried about disturbing her rest, so he had to resist the urge to kiss her.
Sophia Wood felt an immense heartache seeing her daughter sleep from exhaustion, but the thought that both mother and son were safe brought her much comfort. Taking a deep look at her sleeping daughter, she quietly exited the ward.
After receiving Easton’s call in the morning, Sophia quickly rushed to the hospital without having time to call Christopher Turner. Arriving at the hospital, she busied herself with Lily, leaving no time for other thoughts.
Now that both her daughter and grandson were safely through, she finally relaxed, able to turn her attention to other matters.
Upon leaving the ward, Sophia immediately dialed Christopher’s number. The phone rang a few times before Christopher answered, "What’s up? I’m just—"
"Lily gave birth, to a son." Sophia was too excited to notice Christopher was about to say he was busy. She interrupted him before he could finish speaking.
At this moment, Christopher was in the middle of a very important company meeting. Upon hearing Sophia say Lily had given birth, he became excited, "Lily gave birth?! When did she give birth?"
In his excitement, he forgot he was hosting a meeting in a small conference room with several subordinates present.
"She just gave birth, the baby weighs seven pounds nine ounces, and the doctors say he’s particularly healthy." Sophia didn’t know Christopher was in a meeting, and her excitement led her to chatter on with him over the phone.
At this point, Christopher noticed the glances from those around him. Silently, he nodded at a few subordinates and got up, leaving the small conference room.
