Chapter 750 - 487: Death Alchemy, Synthesizing Resources, Exploring the Tombs!

With the ability to synthesize and manufacture Undead Beast mounts, Fang Zhou’s ambition to mass-produce Corpse Knights as a primary combat unit finally seemed attainable. This was also the reason he was able to rapidly expand their numbers from just over 1,000 to 2,000.

As for the Death Alchemy Chamber, it was the absolute focal point of Fang Zhou’s research. Alchemy is essentially the technology that governs the mutual conversion of matter and energy. Adhering to the fundamental principles of alchemy from Blue Star’s professional system, Fang Zhou utilized the terrifying control over Soul Power and Corpse Essence granted to him by the Corpse Authority. In the Death Alchemy Chamber, he successfully synthesized one of the Heavenly and Earthly Treasures needed by Apprentices and Undead Mages: Nether Amber.

This piece of [Nether Amber] was far inferior to the rewards Fang Zhou’s main body had received from the Longxia Federation’s military as champion of the new soldier contest; its quantity, quality, and purity could not compare. However, this marked the first time Fang Zhou had ever created a Death Attribute resource through artificial synthesis. The significance of this breakthrough was self-evident.

Now that he could synthesize Apprentice-level Nether Amber using Soul Power and Corpse Essence, Black Iron-tier resources like Bone-Eroding Blood Spring and Breath of Decay were now within his reach. Even the Bronze-level materials his main body needed most—[Nether Soil Crystals], [Ghostly Cloud Moss], and [Yin Soul Spirit Sand]—were no longer a distant dream.

In Fang Zhou’s plan, there were three primary methods for acquiring Undead Attribute resources in the future.

The first was through what his main body, the Undead Mage, could harvest in the Mythical World and the Blue Star World. The advantage of this route was that he could leverage the power of the Blue Star’s Human Alliance, using the universal currency of contribution points to exchange for needed resources. The disadvantage, however, was obvious: Death Attribute resources were exceedingly rare in the world of the living. This made it difficult for Fang Zhou to obtain them at will, even with a large number of contribution points.

The second method involved his Corpse Clone collecting natural resources like Nether Stone and White Bone Stone in the Undead Realm. Its disadvantage was obvious: the resource distribution was completely random, preventing any stable acquisition.

The third, and what Fang Zhou envisioned as the most important channel, was to use the Corpse Authority he had mastered—and potentially stronger Undead Realm authorities in the future—to artificially synthesize the resources he needed from basic Soul Power and various Undead Essences. This had originally been just a concept. But now, the successful synthesis of Nether Amber proved that this was undoubtedly a promising path forward.

Consequently, the Corpse Clone’s tasks became even clearer.

Continue expanding the Corpse Graveyard, killing and devouring all Undead Lords he encountered.

Continue researching methods for synthesizing Undead Attribute resources, striving to create Bronze-level Heavenly and Earthly Treasures as soon as possible.

Continue researching how to establish a resource transfer channel between the main body and the clone, with the highest chance of success lying in the Summoning Graveyard Skill mastered by Fang Zhou’s main body.

A major breakthrough in any of these three areas would play a crucial role in increasing the power of both his main body and his clone.

Taking a deep breath, Fang Zhou suppressed his racing thoughts and looked up at the eternal Blood Moon in the sky. Now, ordinary Zombie Lords posed no threat to him and his Corpse Graveyard army.

However, the Ghost Lords and the Ghost Army they were likely to face next still posed a significant danger.

According to the Undead Creatures Atlas passed down to him by Instructor Su Xinyan, Ghosts were a very rare Bronze-level Undead Creature. As a rare Spirit Body Undead, a Ghost could partially become incorporeal, allowing physical attacks a chance to pass through it without causing any damage. Furthermore, due to its spirit nature, a Ghost’s attacks had a high probability of bypassing an enemy’s physical defense.

Of course, in exchange for this ability, Ghosts took significantly increased damage from positive energy attributes like Light and flame. But in the Undead Realm, bathed in the light of the Blood Moon, Ghosts had no natural enemies, at least not at the Bronze Stage.

Advanced Zombies, also Bronze-tier Undead Creatures, relied mostly on their fangs, claws, and Corrosive Poison. To a Ghost, this damage was largely negligible. Conversely, a Ghost’s attacks could very likely ignore the powerful defense of a Zombie’s decaying flesh and strike its Soul Fire directly. This disparity meant that when a Lower Bronze Ghost fought a Lower Bronze Zombie, the Ghost almost always won with an overwhelming advantage.

Even in the Mythical World, it is exceptionally rare for a Bronze-tier Undead Mage to successfully summon a Ghost. This would require them to adjust their soul frequency, capture a Ghost’s soul fluctuations within the Undead Realm, and complete the summoning. For example, Su Xinyan was only able to summon Ghosts with any consistency after advancing to a Silver-tier Undead Mage.

The reason Fang Zhou now dared to target a Ghost Lord was his confidence that his series of Death Skills—such as Death Energy Slash, Deadly Strike, and Death Energy Shield—all dealt Energy Damage, not purely Physical Damage. Although this was not the positive energy damage that Ghosts dreaded most, it at least could not be evaded by phasing. This ensured that Fang Zhou would retain potent combat strength when facing a Ghost Lord.

However, compared to Fang Zhou, the Graveyard Lord, the ordinary Graveyard Undead under his command lacked this ability to deal Energy Damage.
