Chapter 800 - 338: The Terrifying Army of Weilu City
Chapter 800 - 338: The Terrifying Army of Weilu City
After the Goddess of Misfortune agreed, Lear headed alone to the excavation site of the God of Slaughter.
Thinking it over, Lear went on to take control of two additional temples.
This time, however, he did not experience as strong a sensation as before; only his Divine Power became slightly more solid.
After completing all this, the number of temples under his control rose to 15.
Yet there’s still a considerable distance to go before controlling a hundred temples.
Having finished here, Lear also arrived at the site of the God of Slaughter’s demise.
At this moment, the cave dwellers were still diligently excavating.
The Goddess of Misfortune lingered atop a nearby peak, gazing afar and, upon seeing Lear arrive, looked in the direction of the Swamp Boggart with interest.
"Your subordinates are rather intriguing..."
Lear nodded.
"Thanks to them, my territory has developed rapidly... Would you like some?"
"No need, although they are somewhat special, not enough for me to collect."
Lear understood and didn’t dwell on the topic further. Looking at the dark red soil, he spoke in a somber tone.
"Your Majesty, are you aware of what is buried underground?"
The Goddess of Misfortune shook her head.
"I cannot perceive much; the blood of the God of Slaughter condenses in the soil and obstructs everything..."
"But I surmise it’s not something inferior."
She gestured with her hand.
"You go deal with the Centaur army... I will oversee this for you."
She had no troops as low-level as Level 15.
On the Original Plane, it couldn’t provide Lear much aid.
Lear nodded as well, promptly rallying his army without delay.
Leaving only the Tree Guardian, Swamp Boggart, and cave dwellers, he withdrew the remaining troops to Katana.
With the Bubble Beast, the speed of transporting the army was swift.
Returning to the Swamp Holy City again, he did a brief count.
At this point, Lear’s aerial troops in Katana included a legion of Crowned Eagle Horned Beast Knights and three squadrons of Dark Night Elves.
For ground troops, there was a legion of Cold-blooded Cavalry, three squadrons of Ancient Tree Warriors, and five squadrons of Tree Guardians.
The total force reached three legions!
Additionally, there was an entire squadron of Wetland Angels as a pinnacle force.
If considering two thousand Level 15 Deserted Tomb Guards plus tens of thousands of Level 12 Crimson Wasps, the power could be even stronger.
This army, concentrated with the essence of Weilu City, could be described with the word "powerful" without any doubt.
But now the issue is... the quantity is not abundant.
Centaur God, being a seasoned Divine Spirit, can arbitrarily mobilize a force of two hundred thousand.
Lear only had three legions, which, although mighty, still paled in comparison.
To confront head-on, even if victory were achieved, it would require tremendous resources.
This was the scenario he least wanted to see.
If the opponent were allowed to attack Katana, then the temples in the Long Thorn Mountain Range would be targeted.
Excluding the temple already activated for defense, the remaining ones were all unguarded.
If the Centaurs divided their forces, sending ten thousand to attack a temple... his forces would be severely diminished.
Although the Wetland Angels could go for support, they numbered in the hundreds, and when distributed among various temples, appeared insufficient.
A strategy must be devised to ambush the Centaurs, reducing their numbers to a manageable level.
In contemplation, Lear arrived at the City Hall, summoned Isa, and spread out the newly drawn map of the Long Thorn Mountain Range.
After reviewing it thoroughly, Lear spoke in a subdued voice.
"The rugged terrain of the Long Thorn Mountain Range is quite suitable for an ambush..."
Cold-blooded Cavalry, as Heavy Cavalry, donning Rock Heavy Armor with a 4-star level, exhibit exaggerated defense, able to cause extremely terrible damage charging from high ground.
Paired with Tree Guardians who can hurl giant stones, towering at 25 meters.
If a suitable location is found, horrendous damage could unfold instantly.
But now the issue lies in identifying a fitting location, one where his army can remain hidden and not be detected.
After Lear posed the problem, Isa thought for a moment and replied in a grave tone.
"Your Majesty, a simple ambush won’t work; the target is too vast."
"However... we could conceal ourselves beneath the earth’s surface."
"Tree Guardians are Treants, and trees take root..."
"As long as the surface soil is excavated to create enough space for ambush, the enemy can be ambushed suddenly as they arrive!"
"Moreover, I have control over a Secret Technique, temporarily reverting Treants to regular trees. When needed, they can instantly awaken, returning as Treants. Combined, the effect will be significant..."
Lear’s eyes lit up.
This plan had high feasibility.
Though simple overall, such a large-scale military action couldn’t be sophisticated in design.
The number of troops made it impossible to casually find a stone to hide behind.
Upon consideration, he scanned the map, and a moment later, his heart stirred slightly as he pointed to a corner of the map.
"The valley 120 kilometers northwest of Katana seems good; you should dispatch someone to investigate immediately. If feasible... proceed right away."
This wasn’t a mandatory route, but with minor adjustments, the Centaurs could be led there.
"Yes!"
Isa took the orders and swiftly acted, leading a team of Crowned Eagle Horned Beast Knights away from the territory.
More than an hour later, the leader of the Dark Night Elves completed the investigation and returned to report.
Her tone carried traces of excitement.
"Your Majesty, the terrain of that valley is extremely favorable; the side walls are not overly steep, and the soil is loose, allowing trees to easily take root."
"The valley floor is about 300 meters wide, accommodating the passage of the Centaur army."
