Chapter 106: Apocalypse Zombie Adventure 6
Chapter 106: Apocalypse Zombie Adventure 6
Under the desolate highway, a man and a zombie were guarding a fire in a culvert.
Xie Min used the dagger that had killed countless zombies to deal with the rabbit's fur. The warm yellow light shining on him didn't seem so inhumane.
It was the first time that Song Xun had a proper full meal. He didn’t even want to spit out the bones and chewed them with a crunchy sound.
Xie Min was playing with a dagger on the side, watching Song Xun who was concentrating on eating as if he found it very interesting.
He stood up and left for half a minute. When he came back, he took a set of his own clothes and threw it on Song Xun's head.
"Put on."
Song Xun, who had just eaten, was very easy to talk to and would do whatever Xie Min asked him to do.
The piece of clothing with holes and tattered strips of cloth was thrown to the ground. Under the firelight, the zombie brought by Xie Min looked like a peeled egg, white and greasy.
There was only one place that was unusual.
Xie Min stretched out his hand without any sense of boundaries, and his fingertips touched the zombie's collarbone.
There is a sharp contrast between the warm fingertips of humans and the cold, pale skin of zombies.
Song Xun, who was putting on his clothes, paused and felt a scratching and burning sensation. He pulled down his clothes and looked at Xie Min who was attacking him.
Xie Min stopped as if nothing had happened: "013, what does it mean?"
Song Xun didn't know and shook his head.
But he vaguely felt that Xie Min was in a good mood, so he knew to seize the opportunity to raise his arm, stretch his wrist in front of Xie Min, and shake the silver bracelet on it.
Xie Min avoided the hand that was about to poke his eyes. The bracelet on it had been secretly bitten countless times and there were teeth marks on it.
"Want to open it?"
Song Xun nodded, his big eyes fixed on Xie Min.
Xie Min supported his chin with one hand, and when his fingers touched, he realized that he was smiling again.
After whetting the zombies' appetite, he said slowly, "No."
The corner of Song Xun's mouth twitched, and he suppressed the urge to bare his teeth at Xie Min. He turned his head away and didn't even want to look at Xie Min's face.
"It's not impossible." Xie Min looked at the reactions of others and said with a smile: "If you perform well, I can consider it."
Song Xun glanced at him furtively, pondering the truth of his words.
Xie Min said seriously: "I don't lie."
Song Xun didn't notice anything wrong and reached this verbal agreement in a friendly manner.
After staying overnight, we continued on our journey.
After crossing the deserted road, we arrived at Hecheng, and there were obviously more zombies on the road.
The zombie that rushed over grabbed onto the car window, and when facing Song Xun, who was also a zombie, his movements were obviously slowed down for a moment.
Song Xun bent down and pulled out its hands that were clinging to the car, successfully making it fall off the car, and then roared away several zombies behind it.
Sitting back down, he felt that he had fully met Xie Min's requirement of 'good performance'.
If Xie Min still had some sense, he should have taken the initiative to help him take off the bracelet.
The car finally stopped in front of a two-story house. The area around here must have been specially cleaned up, as there were still some zombie corpses not far away.
The moment the car stopped, the iron gate opened and four people ran out.
He Ji was the last one to follow Xie Min, but he was the one who worshipped Xie Min the most blindly and mentioned Xie Min wherever he went.
After Xie Min led the zombies away by himself that day, he was so anxious that he was about to cry. When he saw the car coming, he leaned on the car window and said excitedly: "Captain Xie, you——"
"It's not easy for the captain to get into trouble. You still don't believe it." The only female team member heard his voice suddenly stop and teased, "Are you so excited that you can't speak?"
"No, Sister Wu Hui." He Ji stared at Song Xun who was looking at him in the car, "The captain is back with his men."
Xie Min opened the door and got out of the car. After a while, he didn't see Song Xun coming down. He turned around and said, "Are you addicted to riding in the car? Get off."
Song Xun stood straight, glanced at the people gathered outside, and then quickly looked away.
Apart from his fellow zombies, this was the first time he saw so many talking humans, and he felt a little at a loss.
Under Xie Min's urging, he got off the car reluctantly.
Wu Hui: "Survivors?"
He is worthy of being their captain. He was able to save someone while being chased by zombies all over the street.
But this idea was quickly shattered.
Fang Wenbo rolled his glasses and calmly corrected him, "This is not a human, he is a zombie."
Everyone was stunned and looked at the young man who just got off the bus.
Some of them were too white, and when they stood there it was like there was a reflector, making the eyes look particularly dark and distinct, like dots of ink. Looking closely, the eyelashes were very long, and when the eyes were lowered, they were densely cast under the eyes.
It’s hard to tell his exact age, but he’s not very old, and his face still has a bit of childishness.
He didn't seem to like talking to people, didn't talk, and just stood quietly by the car. Hmm... he seemed to be wearing their captain's clothes.
He became the focus of attention for an instant, and Song Xun was startled and immediately wanted to go back to the car.
He hated these people staring at him.
He Ji scratched his head, still feeling unbelievable. He took two steps closer to test the truth of Fang Wenbo's words. However, as if sensing his intention, Song Xun beside the car suddenly took a step back and bared his teeth at him, revealing the fangs that were unique to zombies.
He Ji took a breath.
Captain Xie really brought back a zombie.
Xie Min pulled Song Xun out who was about to hide in the car, and introduced him in front of several people openly.
"The psychic mutant zombies encountered in An County can communicate simply. Their attack power..." He pondered for a moment and finally concluded, "The attack power is currently at D level."
The central base divides zombies into categories of lethality from high to low. Ordinary zombies are not within the range. Mutated zombies usually have speed, strength, hallucinogenic, and mental types.
The latter two situations are rare. The psychic system has the highest IQ among them and can control the zombies with low abilities for their own use. This was already evident when Song Xun was able to expel the zombies in the pharmacy.
Among the four levels of ABCD, level D is the last and the least aggressive level. If it were not for the special point of possessing supernatural powers, it would probably be squeezed out of the classification range.
"Are we going to have new teammates?" He Ji asked in confusion and uncertainty.
Otherwise he couldn't guess why Captain Xie brought back a zombie.
As expected of the core team of District 7, there is nothing they cannot do. It’s really exciting.
Xie Min expressed his admiration for the new team member's train of thought and patted Song Xun's head with a formal expression.
"He will stay with me for the time being. I will control him and prevent any accidents from happening and prevent him from biting anyone."
No one objected to the captain's rare act of willfulness in bringing back a zombie.
Most of them were selected and organized by Xie Min, and they were brought up by him personally. Their strength was among the best in the entire base. In comparison, it was the zombie who needed to worry about his own safety.
