Chapter 1828 Emotional loss of control
Chapter 1828 Emotional loss of control
Gong Qiang nodded to Shen Xi: "Go back, don't worry about me and your teacher's wife."
Well, seeing her daughter sleeping like that, Shen Xi couldn't bear to leave her, so she said goodbye to the couple: "Call me if you need anything. If they dare to cause trouble again, I'll help you teach them a lesson."
Gong Qiang glared at him: "Do you think I'm a pushover?"
He's her teacher, after all, okay? What's wrong with his skills? He's got the energy for his age!
"Alright, alright, you're the birthday celebrant, you're the oldest."
Shen Xi and her family of three were kicked out.
On the way home, Caibao was fast asleep in his baby car seat, snoring softly. He looked so sweet.
As the traffic light turned green, Chen Chuan glanced back at his wife and asked, "Would you like to sit next to me?"
Shen Xi helped Cai Bao smooth out the sea urchin hairs: "Okay."
She got out of the car and changed seats, sitting in the passenger seat.
He reached out and squeezed her hand. His warm and strong palm gave her a sense of security.
Shen Xi's tears fell without warning.
Chen Chuan didn't comfort her, because he knew that these tears weren't for her, but for Lin Xiangxue and Gong Qiang.
He drove quietly, she cried silently, and Caibao slept soundly, each with their own... earnestness.
As dusk fell, a trail of lights flashed by as cars came and went.
The train carriage was a world of its own.
She leaned back, staring blankly at the bustling traffic outside the car window.
“When I was in junior high school, I was discovered by a teacher and brought from Wancheng to Hecheng.”
“At that time, Shen Dazhi and the others did not agree to my coming. They were worried that they would have to pay for my tuition and living expenses. It was only after the teacher assured him that he would not have to pay a penny and that the school would even provide financial support that they agreed.”
Shen Xi curled her lips into a smile: "Actually, in the beginning, we didn't have much money."
She's new to the team and hasn't achieved any results yet; the allowance the team gives her isn't even enough for living expenses.
Gong Qiang and his wife subsidized her themselves.
Gradually, Shen Xi began to stand out in her first competition.
Lin Xiangxue adored Shen Xi, treating her like a daughter, taking care of her every need, from food and clothing to shelter and transportation. She even taught Shen Xi how to get her first period.
She remembered her teacher's wife's warm embrace, and she thought, "My mother must have felt like this." She had never been held by Xu Liwen since birth, but Lin Xiangxue filled the void in her heart that longed for a mother.
Therefore, she regarded her as her mother.
If Gong Qiang hadn't taken her away from Wancheng back then, her life might have been very different.
Zheng Shou only taught her martial arts, and in a very hands-off way, but Gong Qiang pointed her in a different direction in life.
Since then, Shen Xi has worked hard all the way to become who she is today.
“At that time, Gong Jin’an was still young. Whenever I went to his house, he would follow me around, calling me ‘sister, sister.’ He would even go around telling others that he had a sister and that his sister was very powerful.”
Shen Xi choked up.
Chen Chuan didn't speak or interrupt her, but listened quietly.
“I really treat him like my own brother. When he was bullied by his classmates, I dragged him to confront them and stand up for him. When his grades were bad, I tutored him. When he went astray, I slapped him across the face. He was afraid of me, but he also depended on me a lot.”
“I thought that I could be as close as family with my teacher and his wife, and I could be with him too.”
"But why did it change? Why?"
She couldn't figure it out.
He just went to college and got a girlfriend, so why did Gong Jin'an change?
Shen Xi didn't believe that Guan Yongyan had instigated everything, and that Gong Jin'an was innocent.
The truth is, a person cannot be taught to be bad; it's just that their true nature is brought out.
But clearly, Gong Jin'an has always been a very well-behaved and obedient child, as well as a kind-hearted person who is compassionate towards the poor and weak and always willing to help others.
Why has it turned out this way?
Shen Xi's tears slowly slid down her cheeks: "How heartbroken must my teacher and his wife be?"
He only has one son, and he doesn't even care about the dignity of his father's birthday banquet. Why did he change like this?
Shen Xi couldn't understand it. She wasn't crying for herself; she was crying for her teachers. Lin Xiangxue, who was always strong, had red eyes and was forcing a smile all day.
How heartbroken she was! She was heartbroken more than they were.
Shen Xi knew how much the couple loved their son. Although they often said they would pretend he was never born, in reality, which parent would easily give up the child they had cherished since childhood?
But there's nothing we can do about it.
Chen Chuan sighed: "People are strange and complicated. Some things don't have that many whys."
Just like everyone thinks that parental love is innate, some parents just don't love their children, for no reason, and there's nothing you can do about it.
Many parents spoil their disobedient children, while the most obedient and sensible child in the family is always the one who suffers.
If you ask for a reason, what is it?
Perhaps something happened that caused Gong Jin'an to have a knot in his heart, or perhaps he has always been like this, but he just hadn't encountered any problems before and hadn't shown it.
There are always mothers-in-law who say that their sons used to be very filial, but became unfilial after getting married, and that they were all corrupted by their wives.
Actually, we're all adults, so who can lead whom astray?
It's just that they don't want to admit that their son is like this, and they're just making excuses for him.
Perhaps Gong Jin'an, having grown up under Shen Xi's "tyranny," was honest and law-abiding and hadn't yet realized it.
During his four years of university, he chose a place far away from Hecheng and then let himself go.
Shen Xi sighed: "The teachers must be so disappointed."
"Raising children is inherently a gamble. Children may be very good and filial, or they may be disrespectful and heartless. People are diverse and unpredictable. Teachers can only manage their own emotions."
No amount of comforting words can help; aside from your own perspective, there's very little others can do to help.
But it's difficult. Parents often have to be heartbroken before they can... finally let go. But even that kind of letting go comes with a painful, agonizing tearing apart of their flesh and skin.
Shen Xi looked at him: "What can I do for them?"
"Offer comfort and support, and let them have a safety net. Tell them that even without Gong Jin'an, they still have you."
It's a very practical suggestion, but it's useful. No amount of words can compare to the confidence of having someone to back you up, especially for the elderly.
For some reason, Shen Xi seemed to feel a little better.
She turned her head to look at Caibao. The little guy was sleeping soundly, his head tilted back and his little mouth slightly open. His little belly was heaving under the seatbelt.
I really envy this child; she practices her inner strength even while sleeping. Who can compare to her?
She said, "I just imagined what would happen if Caibao were unfilial in the future..."
To be honest, it hurts my heart.
No, she won't.
Shen Xi snorted: "You seem to have a lot of confidence in her. Didn't you say that people are complicated and changeable?"
