Chapter 347 I am who I am
Chapter 347 I am who I am
With a dazed expression, Ruan Mianmian slowly made her way back to her simple wooden house with heavy steps.
The room felt unusually quiet at that moment, because Sen was not there.
Like a soulless puppet, she stared blankly around, then casually reached out and grabbed a small orc who happened to be passing by.
She said in a slightly hoarse and lifeless voice, "Could you please call Sen back for me?"
The little orc was taken aback at first, but then a happy smile spread across his face. He readily agreed and ran off like a gust of wind.
Ruan Mianmian dragged her tired body into the house, stiffly took off her shoes, and then curled up on the bed like a wounded little animal, lost in thought.
The conversation she had just had with Zhi and that mysterious system was like a violent storm that swept through her inner world, leaving her feeling flustered and at a loss.
Her mind was a jumble of thoughts, a mixture of questions and confusion, which made her even begin to doubt who she really was.
Meanwhile, when Mori heard that the little female was looking for him, he initially thought she might have some important task for him to carry out. So, he quickened his pace and hurried back to the cabin.
However, when he stepped into the room and saw the little female lying on the bed looking utterly dejected, his heart was instantly gripped tightly, as if it were being squeezed hard by an invisible hand.
In the depths of Mori's memory, apart from the first time he encountered the little female and saw her looking somewhat disheveled, there was nothing else.
Since bringing her back to the tribe, in his mind, this little female had always been so strong, brave, and omnipotent, rarely showing such a vulnerable and helpless side.
Sen gently walked to the bedside and sat down, reaching out to touch Ruan Mianmian's hair, and asked softly, "What's wrong? Did something happen?"
Ruan Mianmian slowly raised her head, her eyes filled with confusion. "Sen, I feel like I'm not myself anymore. I don't know where I came from, or what my purpose is in coming here."
Sen frowned and pulled Ruan Mianmian into his arms. "No matter who you are, you are the leader of our tribe, the one who protects everyone, and the one who brings hope to everyone."
Hearing Sen's words, Ruan Mianmian felt a little more at ease.
At this point, Mori continued, "I don't know what you and Zhi talked about when you went out, but to me, you are you, irreplaceable."
"But what if one day you find out that I'm not the person you know?" Ruan Mianmian asked.
Sen stroked Ruan Mianmian's hair, looking at her with deep emotion, and said, "The moment I saw you, I knew you were you, only you. No matter what you look like or what your identity is, in my heart you are my Ruan Ruan, the person I want to protect and love for a lifetime! You could say you are my faith. I believe in you as I believe in the Beast God!"
Ruan Mianmian blushed when she heard Sen's heartfelt confession.
Sen had never said that before. She thought the two were just an ordinary couple who liked each other, but she didn't know when she had become this beastman's idol!
Ruan Mianmian leaned against Sen's chest, feeling his warmth and strength.
She thought to herself that perhaps there was no need to dwell on the past and the future; the peaceful and fulfilling life she was living in the present was the most authentic.
Gradually, the confusion in her eyes faded, and she rallied, deciding to focus on making the most of her current life, leaving the rest to time to answer.
