Chapter 173 Tofu Pudding
Chapter 173 Tofu Pudding
Yan Xun arrived at the whiteboard and found the Angel Guild members waiting there.
That was an angel with one wing missing.
His wrists were wrapped in some kind of imitation thorns, which caused them to bleed continuously. He knelt on the ground, muttering something as if in prayer.
Yan Xun observed the whiteboard, and out of the corner of his eye, he could see the angel with broken wings stand up, seemingly having finished his prayer.
"Did you feed blood to the human cat?" Yan Xun suddenly turned around and looked at the angel.
The wingless angel seemed surprised that Yan Xun would speak to him. He initially didn't want to talk to him, but perhaps he remembered White's instructions and that the person opposite him was a lost lamb who had temporarily lost his faith, so he patiently spoke.
"Yes."
"Do the cat and human like it?" Yan Xun asked again.
He waved his hand, gesturing for the other person to look at the wound on his wrist, "The cats here are a bit picky eaters; they don't like the blood we provide."
Duan Chi looked at him, at the wound on Yan Xun's wrist, and his first thought was—
Of course, neither the human nor the cat would be satisfied with such childish food.
He thought again about what they had fed the cats today, and a strange sense of pride filled his mind.
Since he became a believer in God the Father, his mind has been free of those chaotic thoughts; he only needs to pray every day.
This was a kind of peace that pagans could not understand, especially since physical pain could calm him down.
With this inexplicable sense of superiority, Broken Wing looked at Yan Xun and said, "I think your food might not be very well prepared."
He rarely spoke so much; his head felt like a complete mess, filled with all sorts of crazy ideas.
"How could this be?" Yan Xun looked incredulous. He raised his wrist, tearing open the wound that was almost healed, causing blood to seep out. "I let out blood first."
He approached the broken wing. "I want to see you, human-cat."
"Did you use some other method...?"
"Yan Xun!"
Behind Yan Xun, on the side closer to the Retrospection Guild, came Li Wu's warning voice.
He looked at Yan Xun and Duan Chi warily. "Come back."
"I was just asking..." Yan Xun waved his hand dismissively, "Don't make a big deal out of it."
“Besides, don’t you also want to know why our feeding isn’t working?” he said to Li Wu. “He told me that their feeding is very effective.”
"The cat and the human are very satisfied."
Broken Wings added, "The human and the cat are full."
"Full?!" Yan Xun looked the broken wing up and down exaggeratedly. "You're lying to me, aren't you?"
"How can a few drops of blood satisfy a human-cat..."
Yan Xun's questioning enraged the confused Broken Wings. He felt that Yan Xun, this heretic, had been corrupted by those people for too long, and had actually begun to question their words—that no one in the Angelic Guild would lie, and that this was blasphemy against the Father God.
"It's true!"
Broken Wings said he even wanted to blurt out that Yan Xun was a heretic, but White's image appeared in his mind.
He felt a strange sense of fear and could only swallow the words, "It's true."
He repeated it again.
Behind Li Wu, there were two other people hiding in the room.
Listening to their conversation, Sun Zhao looked at Lou Yanchuan beside him and asked, "Can this really work?"
“It’s no use you going,” Lou Yanchuan said.
He didn't even look at Sun Zhao beside him, but listened carefully to the commotion over there. "Most of the members of the Angel Guild are simple-minded and very impulsive."
"Because their minds have been corrupted by that god."
"The closer you get to those mysterious beings, the easier it is to go mad..." Lou Yanchuan thought for a moment, as if he remembered something funny.
He turned to Sun Zhao and said, "It's like tofu pudding."
“They have to thank their faith; if that thing hadn’t helped them hold it in place, their skulls would be full of loose, wobbly tofu pudding right now.”
Sun Zhao felt a bit disgusted by Lou Yanchuan's words.
But he quickly realized the other person's implied meaning, and he looked at Lou Yanchuan hesitantly, "You mean, even if they regret it, they can't leave?"
Aside from those mysterious beings, he really didn't know of anything that could make people with brains turned into tofu pudding live and be able to have normal conversations with others.
Well, it's not exactly normal either.
In Sun Zhao's mind appeared a person with tofu pudding on his head, a pair of wings on his back, and talking crazy nonsense.
“Abandoning one’s faith leads only to death,” Lou Yanchuan said.
"The advantage is that they're not very smart."
After all, even if God can guarantee that Tofu Pudding can still think, He can't guarantee that Tofu Pudding is smart.
"It's just that the people of the Angel Guild really hate heretics, or rather, people like us who have no faith."
“They have their own set of logic…” Lou Yanchuan paused for a moment, “so it won’t work if you send someone else.”
Sun Zhao certainly remembered that when they first entered the instance, the four-winged White had spoken to Yan Xun.
He originally thought the other party was just helping the Angel Guild develop new faiths... but now it seems that it wasn't a random selection?
“What are their standards?” Sun Zhao asked.
“There is no standard,” Lou Yanchuan said.
He pointed to the sky, “An instruction from that.”
Sun Zhao followed his finger to the ceiling and understood that Lou Yanchuan was referring not to the upper echelons of Jonathan Company, but to the mysterious beings observing them through the live stream... However, these mysterious beings did not like to speak in the live stream; most of the time, it was only some wandering ghosts who spoke.
It's not good news that Yan Xun has been targeted by that thing.
Sun Zhao still couldn't understand why Yan Xun, who was only a newcomer entering the instance for the fourth time, was targeted by the angels.
Could it be that an angel is in Yan Xun's live stream?
While the two were talking, Yan Xun and Duan Chi continued their conversation.
Perhaps Li Wu's voice was too loud, which finally disturbed the remaining members of the Angel Guild... They left the room one by one and came to the living room.
Li Wu became tense, seemingly worried that the Angel Guild members might harm Yan Xun.
White stood at the front, looking at Li Wu, and then at Yan Xun, who was standing with his guild members.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
They inquired about Yan Xun and Duan Chi.
Soon, Duan Chi briefly recounted what had happened... He looked at Yan Xun thoughtfully, then a smile appeared on his face.
The overhead light shone on his blond hair, and with the wings behind him, he looked like an angel from mythology who had truly descended.
But Yan Xun knew it was fake.
He discovered that the Angel Guild now only had 6 members left, the last one missing—
Was it swallowed by the box? Or did it encounter some other misfortune?
"You want to see our boxes?" White asked.
“I want to see…” Yan Xun looked at White, “How do you feed human cats?”
